 Western Big Leaf Maple (Oregon) ranges from very highly spalted to fairly 'tame, 'color-wise and highly figured with intense curling and quilting, almost 3-D like..  A high degree of spalting gives the wood an extremely interesting coloring and graining pattern.  One of Krenov's favorites, after working with it and experiencing results, you're sure to understand why.  Boards in various thickness to slabs up to ten feet long are available. Put a little of the Pacific Northwest into your next project, you'll be glad you did.
