The 'Cooper Bench' was designed and built by William (Bill) Cooper for us in our 'early days.'  Bill has since moved on (to an actually paying position) but a few of his pieces live on here at the Mill.  

His bench is a combination of COCOBOLO and JATOBA.  The medium toned jatoba allows the cocobolo to very much accent the mild 'field wood.'  The mild grain and color of the jatoba is just about the only mild thing about that wood however, it's one tough-son-of-a-gun with respects to hardness, density, and cutting, sanding, and the like.
